James Olson
Founder & Managing Partner
As founder of Compass, Mr. Olson’s vision for what the company needs to achieve is based on a broad background and over 35 years of experience in top management as well as entrepreneurial startup ventures. Mr. Olson served in top management positions with a NYSE retailer and as a Controller for the retail divisions of General Mills and Green Giant before starting his own business. In 1974, Mr. Olson founded ICB Group, a management consulting business and securities broker/dealer that provided capital for a niche market of clients throughout the United States.
In 1990, he co-founded a new technology company, Excel Energy Technologies, which developed and marketed an innovative energy-saving product. He has successfully managed several startup business ventures and has developed an expertise in creating business plans that attract investors and new capital.
Mr. Olson holds a Business Administration & Economics Degree from Drury College, and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Washington University, St. Louis, MO.
Kevin Breeding
President & Managing Partner
International Marketing, Brand Development and Strategic and Operational Planning are the key skills Kevin brings to the team. He has served as CMO for a private equity group and previously was a Partner at Hutchinson Group, a DC based consulting firm founded by a former Homeland Security Secretary.
Mr. Breeding previously served as Director of Advertising for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc, International Division. His responsibilities included all corporate advertising in seven languages and six currencies. He managed teams in 8 countries and carried out research in 33 additional countries. Previous clients include leading companies in Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Automotive, Financial Services, Technology Companies and Non-profit organizations.
Mr. Breeding holds a Business Administration Degree from the University of Arkansas, and a Religion Degree from Missouri Baptist College, St. Louis, MO.
Erin Cox
Sr. Plan Advisor
Outstanding business research, excellent writing skills, and business planning strategy are the key skills that Erin contributes to the Compass team. These skills earned her recognition by the Wall Street Journal and the Oklahoma Small Business Administration.
Graduating at the top of her class with a Masters degree in Business Administration, Mrs. Cox has spent several years researching in academia while being mentored by many experts in business research and competitive business intelligence. As a result, she was recruited to teach and administrate Master of Management and MBA students at Oral Roberts University. Her past projects are currently used as models for the capstone course in Strategic Management at the Tulsa based campus. She has traveled internationally, preparing business seminars and training events for third world countries.
Mrs. Cox holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master of Business Administration degree from Oral Roberts University.
